Sometimes, shipments won't reach the customer because they are deemed undeliverable by customs or the local carrier. When this happens, they will mark the package as "Return to Sender." Depending on the service level the package was shipped with, it may or may not be returned to your facility.
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Packages
Returned to Sender: DDP packages marked as "Returned to Sender" rarely return to the United States due to foreign postal service and customs requirements.
Abandonment: These packages are most likely sent to an abandonment center to be destroyed.
Cost-Prohibitive: Returning the item from the abandonment facility to the United States is often cost-prohibitive due to retrieval fees, shipping costs, and customs duties.
DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) Packages
Returned to Sender: DDU packages marked "Returned to Sender" often return to the United States after being shipped through the postal system.
USPS Reciprocity Agreements: The United States Postal Service (USPS) has reciprocity agreements with many other countries' postal systems, making the shipment more likely to be returned.
Requesting "Return to Sender":
Return to Facility: We are currently unable to return shipments to your facility. We are working on adding this capability in the future and apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
This does not include your regular return policy. If your customer would like to return the package after receiving it, this is still possible and you are welcome to purchase a return label from the dashboard.
