General limitations:
- Line Items and Order Value:
- Passport shipments are limited to 35 unique line items per shipment.
- Orders must have values under $2,500 USD to all countries.
- This is due to Passport specializing in brand-to-consumer (B2C) rather than brand-to-brand (B2B) business.
- Any parcel valued over $2,500 USD or with more than 35 unique line items is classified as B2B and follows a separate customs clearance process.
Customs regulations and caveats:
-
Country-Specific Regulations:
- Customs regulations in the destination country determine specific limitations.
- For instance, Australian imports over $1,000 AUD require formal clearance, additional fees, inspections, clearance forms, and longer delivery times.
-
Product Limitations:
- There are also limitations on the kinds of products each country allows to be imported based on the item's HS code classification.
Commercial shipments:
-
Commercial Classification:
- Shipments deemed as "commercial" by customs are likely to be returned since B2B clearance is outside Passport's standard capabilities.
- For example, a POA (Power of Attorney) and your CBN (Canadian Business Number) are required to process a parcel if a clearance occurs in Canada. A $100 USD per parcel clearance fee will apply.
-
Required Documents and Fees:
- Required documents and fees vary based on the destination country.
Important notes:
-
Customs Regulations:
- The destination country's customs regulations set these restrictions and prohibitions and are not within Passport's control.
- Passport cannot be held liable for customs-held shipments, abandoned, destroyed, or otherwise confiscated due to customs regulations.
-
Refunds and Credits:
- Refunds or credits will not be issued for shipments affected by customs regulations.
-
Pre-Shipment Consultation:
- Contact our support team before shipments are fulfilled to determine whether they may be restricted or prohibited or if the product value is within the allowed range for brand-to-consumer shipments in the destination country.
